Tuckernuck baskets are made from the highest quality natural rattan fibers. Woven from kubu rattan, the extra thick full-core weave of this basket makes it one of the most durable bicycle baskets on the market. Attaches to front handlebars with two leather straps.

The addition of the extremely well built and attractive Nantucket basket...an accessory to a Brooklyn Bicycle...causes one to experience...dream if you will... of riding on the the on the island's historic bicycle paths... alongside spectacular beaches...picnic essentials within the basket. What a wonderful, peaceful, interlude among the hustle and bustle that surrounds us.

Nantucket Basket

I purchased a Nantucket Basket for my bike, but I haven't actually used it because I am sure it will get stolen since there is no way to lock it to the bike. I sadly didn't think about that before purchasing it. If you all have a suggestion on how to safely secure it I would love to hear it (or consider adding that in a future design). Maybe I am too paranoid, but I live in DC where bike stuff is stolen.

Thank you for sharing Elizabeth. With this basket, we gather that Nantucket Baskets (the manufacturer) opted to balance aesthetics with security. It's a light duty basket, not suitable for much more than a purse, towel, and phone but it's also meant to be incredibly easy to install/remove. We'll pass your comments along to the Nantucket team.
